About Me
Before working in design, I started out as a Capital Markets Analyst at Lehman Brothers, then I worked as an Executive Compensation Analyst at Aon Hewitt and later as a Senior Human Resources Compensation Analyst for Forest Laboratories. My time in these roles have helped me to refine and perfect my analytical, client interaction and interpersonal skills.
In New York City, I worked at the Fashion Institute of Technology teaching graphic and accessories design while simultaneously designing for companies like Kenneth Cole, Calvin Klein and Marchesa. During my time at these companies, I developed the ability to empathize with customers and created products that are functional, visually pleasing and profitable.
While working full-time, I also owned and operated Charanor.com, a premium leather goods company that specializes in handmade accessories like: leather masks, leather fringe scarves and high quality handbags. I also enjoyed connecting with the community by offering leather craft classes where I taught people how to make leather goods by hand and let them experience the joy of making. Being an entrepreneur has taught me to determine who the market is, what they need and how to get it to them.
Now, having worked as a Senior Product Designer for many clients in a variety of industries - I have performed: Design system management, conducting interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low and high-fidelity prototyping, conducting usability studies, accounting for accessibility, iterating on designs, responsive design, and leading workshops and presentations during the discovery and design phases. Because of these client experiences, I have honed the ability to make technology that is useful, usable and beautiful for people globally.
Check out my work.
Cheers,
Charanor
